Good for P2P, some delays

I used LocalBitcoins to buy some Bitcoin via an online bank transfer. The platform itself worked well for finding a seller and the escrow service felt secure. The trade completed okay. However, the seller took a bit longer than I expected to release the coins after I sent payment, which was a little frustrating. It eventually went through, but some trades can feel a bit slow depending on the individual you're dealing with. Overall, good value and a solid way to buy, but be ready for potential small delays.

Reliable as always

I've been using LocalBitcoins for a while now, mostly for smaller trades when I need to convert some gift cards to Bitcoin. This last trade was for a Google Play card, and just like my previous experiences, it was consistent. The seller was quick to respond, and the Bitcoin was released promptly after they confirmed the card. The reputation system really helps in picking good traders. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect and it usually delivers.

So easy to get Bitcoin!

Wow, I just completed my first ever trade on LocalBitcoins and I am so happy with it! I used the SEPA transfer option and it was super straightforward. Found a seller with good reviews, initiated the trade, sent the money, and they released the Bitcoin right away. The whole process felt really secure with the escrow service. I was a bit nervous about buying crypto, but this made it easy. Definitely planning to use them again when I need more Bitcoin and will recommend it to my friends!

Found a decent deal

As a first-time crypto buyer, I was looking for the best way to get Bitcoin without paying crazy fees. LocalBitcoins seemed like a good option for peer-to-peer. I compared several sellers offering PayPal to Bitcoin and picked one with a competitive rate. The platform charged a small fee, but it was less than some other places I checked. The trade went through fine, and I felt I got good value for my money. It was worth the effort to compare listings.

hey, trying to figure out how these referral codes work. where do you even put them in?

M Mark Hernandez 5 days ago
It's not really a "code" you enter at checkout like a regular store. You usually get a link from someone and sign up through that. That's how it worked for me anyway.

Yeah, pretty sure it's all link-based for new users. No box for a promo code during sign-up or anything.

What's the deal with fees here? Is it expensive to sell bitcoin compared to other places like Binance P2P?

S Sarah Evans 1 month ago
Sellers pay a small fee, buyers usually don't directly. I think it's like 1% for the seller. Binance P2P doesn't have direct fees for makers/takers but the spread can be different.

The fees are pretty standard for p2p, sometimes you can get discounts if you trade a lot though. I don't think it's outrageously more expensive than other options.

Can I trade gift cards for bitcoin on here? Like an Amazon gift card or something similar?

S Sandra 1 month ago
Yeah, I've seen listings for gift card trades. You'll probably pay a premium for it though, because it's riskier for the seller.

I Ian Lee 1 month ago
Yep, there are definitely sellers who accept gift cards. Just search for those offers.

How long does it usually take for a trade to go through? Like from payment to actually getting the bitcoin in my wallet?

S Susan T. 1 week ago
Depends on the payment method really. Bank transfers can be a bit slow if it's not instant, but if you're using something like cash deposit it's usually pretty fast once the seller confirms.

I've had some trades clear in minutes, others took an hour or two. It's mostly up to the seller confirming they got your payment.

Is this still a good place to buy? Heard some things a while back about changes.

L Linda Phillips 3 weeks ago
It's definitely still active. I used it last week. The volume might not be what it once was but it's still reliable for p2p.

Yeah, it's still running. Just make sure to check seller reputation like always.
